| Our History Molly Barker, MSW, a 4 time Hawaii Ironman triathlete, created Girls on the Run (GOTR) in Charlotte, NC. As a teenager and young adult Molly found herself stuck in the “girl box”. In 1993, Molly went for a run at sunset and she had an epiphany: "You're perfect just the way you are" and she realized that's how all women should feel. Molly decided to try and reach girls before they entered the girl box, so she started Girls on the Run in 1996 with 13 girls. Today, there are GOTR councils in more than 146 cities across the United States & Canada. In 2007, approximately 40,000 girls nationwide met to run, to laugh, to learn, and to look at the “girl box” issues they all face every day. GOTR Napa Valley was founded in the fall of 2005 by Michelle Beard, Wendy Cole, Erin Przybylinski, Janet Todd. The Napa Valley founders share a passion for helping young girls accomplish all that they can in life! Our Board Team Janet Todd: President/Executive Director—Janet holds a masters degree in exercise physiology and a MBA in marketing. She has been a physical education teacher, a weight management program counselor and most recently a human resources & communication vice president in an global health care company. Janet is now an artist, St. Helena High School cross country coach and a member of Soroptimist. She is a competitive triathlete. Wendy Cole: Secretary—Wendy is a mother of two children and is an active volunteer within the St. Helena school district and community. She is an avid runner, hiker and overall explorer. Wendy has her B.S. in Biology, was a laboratory manager in the wine industry and is now substitute teaching for the K-8 schools. Wendy has orchestrated the annual “fun run” for the middle school and volunteered in writing grants for the school. She has lived in the valley for over 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and tenacity to get things done. Gina Elliott: Board Member —Gina has lived and worked in the Napa Valley for over 25 years. During this time, she has been a real estate agent at Pacific Union and served on the Board at the Women's Junior League of Napa & Sonoma. Gina, her husband and their daughter, Julia participate in triathlons, swimming, skiing and bicycling adventures. Sarah Gott: Board Member—Sarah spends her time building Joel Gott Wines with her husband and consulting for a few Napa Valley wineries, including Clif Family Winery. She is also a competitive triathlete and mother of three. Sarah graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology, Sarah has worked as a wine maker at Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Quintessa prior to starting her own business with Joel. Leslie Medine: Board Member—Leslie is Executive Director at On the Move and brings 30 years of community organizing and direct service to youth. Leslie is the co-founder of Beacon Day School, Beacon High School, and Educational Implementers Inc. Additionally, she and Diana co-founded Alternatives In Action, HOME, Bay Area School of Enterprise, HOME Sweet HOME Preschool, Moving Forward, On The Verge, and On The Move. Erin Przyblinski: Chief Financial Officer—Erin has a passion for the possible and strongly supports a life philosophy of “Viva Abundantior” – to live a life more abundant. Erin is currently raising her two children and serving as Treasurer on the St. Helena Cooperative Nursery School Board. Erin presently works as a Marketing Consultant for Cisco Systems. Maria Scarborough: Board Member—Maria is a healthcare professional living in Napa. She is an avid skier and outdoor enthusiast.
